Everything's changing

Hello all!

Sorry it has been a while since my last post - felt like i just updated you but actually it has been a while. Currently sat in warringah mall using the wifi there as we still don't have wifi in the house. i am going to move out of the house now... i love it and it is beautiful but it is too far from work and the beach. i get on with my housemate, neil, well, he is also english. today we made a roast dinner with bbq ribs to start... and it was amazing.

christmas was amazing - we went to the beach in the morning and it was amazing weather. all of the boys took bins full of beer, fizzy pop and cider to the beach with ice and water. the police came and took all of our alcohol because there was about 50 of us on the beach. we spent the day in the sun anyway and then went back to the hostel to drink some more and chill.
the day before i went to see martha and hannah in bondi for the day/night. we spent day on the beach and then we went out in bondi but it was quiet so martha and i took a (free, paid by some random lads) taxi to the city and went to kings cross hotel, empire to meet katie and harley then went to world bar and met a guy who works for david atemborough doing deep sea filming!!!!! absolute legend he was!! then we went home.

tonight we may go out for a few drinks after i finish work - work has given me new years off after i asked for it wooo 30/31/1 and half of 2nd :) so that is amazing! ben is down from tomorrow over new years so we will hit up manly and the city a lot over those few days.

just a quick update 0 i have work in a few hours - i should be uploading photos onto Facebook very soon :)

please update me about how your xmas/new year went

love you loads

It's been a long time, i shouldn't of left you

To those who are eagerly following this blog, I apologise it's been ages since my last post. Been going out every night with Martha and Hannah and working a lot of hours at moo.

Moo is going well.. I've picked up a lot of things over the last week and I am officially no longer training apparently lol but there is always a lot to do and not enough staff to do it so that can get a bit stressful but hey I'll keep calm an carry on - I'm sure it will get better once I know everything and actually have some staff to manage!! I trained a girl yesterday and she seems nice her name is Jamaica! How cool is that she is French. And a girl Sarah from the hostel should be starting soon too :)

I still haven't picked up my bike - the girl said I must do it Monday! So I hope I get a evening off then to do it. I'm hoping my first pay cheque will come soon ... Money is tight! I am moving into my new house TONIGHT! and I can't wait it's gonna be fun I hope. Still need to buy some linens but I am going to try and ask reception if they have any going spare for now til the Xmas sales. Lol. Doesn't feel like
Xmas at all! I am working Xmas eve now but I am off on new years so may meet up with kings cross girls / manly crew in Bondi or something! :)

So apart from working we have been going out to the new Brighton bar / shark bar, ivanhoe, the steyne and of course shore club for reggae night Thursday! 6 of us walked to shelly beach Tuesday, to have a little wonder and take loads of day photos! then hired tandem bikes (6 of us, so 3 couples) and rode to north manly and then along a Coastal path to a waterfall (we had s bell and we kept ringing it at people to move even though we were in a bike restricted area.. But we presumed it didn't include tandems..!? Lol) then Wednesday night my night off we went to shelly beach for a BBQ, drink goon, swim in sea and made a camp fire. Was amazing but everyone got badly bitten by Mosquitos! There were possums everywhere too! Tool loads of photos. Then went to reggae night thurs (after day shift at work) and Friday all day work then out to new Brighton then work all day Saturday... Then today I am moving into my new house :) I am always very tired but will be ok once I get a pattern sorted. Hostel lot are all travelling to Bondi next week so will miss them loads but some are staying so I can hang with them a bit, like Sarah michael Sam James and maybe a few more!

Weather is better now but still not sunny every day but rain has stopped.. For now...
Anyway so I'll let u know about how the house is going and speak to u soon !! Update me on what u are all doing! :)

If goon did hostels...

It would probably be the best hostel in the world / called boardriders backpackers.

Ive been here a week and it feels like a life time. Manly is amazing and the people are lovely; were like a little family here and it's like living with a massive family :) Martha and Hannah are amazing and as I'm getting to know the boys more you get to know that they're actually a really sound bunch of guys. Most people are hanging around for another 2/3 weeks or so so should I can show them my new pad which I move into next week! Looking forward to moving in but really don't wanna leave this hostel... Great people, location, price... I'm starting to think why the hel I'm getting a house to be honest... Any words of wisdom there will be much appreciated! Cos I pay my deposit tomorrow night so sooner the better :)

So last night we went out in kings cross (I went to see Katie and Hayley) and we went to kings cross hotel. Danced the night away in heels leany from hannah and my new stripe dress :) High light of the night was in McDonalds though lol I told a guy next to me that he could order first because he was first... And then he paid for my food... And katies haha. Absolute legend! Then he just walked off... $30 down... Didn't even expect a 10 minute conversation / fake flirting for it! There is such thing as a free lunch!

Today Katie came back to manly with me, we sat on the beach with James Martha Hannah and polly but then we got hungry, went for nachos at shore bar, then it started clouding over - very dark grey and forecast said thunder and lightening was a brewin! I'm still burnt tho so not too annoyed about the weather to be honest.

Work wise I went in from 630-1015 tonight and met mariella she I Brazilian and lovely and who I will be assistant manager with. Today I made a lot of drinks and finished tidying bar areas and we rearranged the restaurant to look better :) but feeling a little sick now cos she said (bearing in mind its like my second shift) that I got to run the place and close on my own... :-/ absolutely bricking it because I have not done this before and am very nervous I will not up everything I should do... And certainly not on my own in somewhere I have worked twice! Crazy but marrianne said I could call her at any time to talk it through. She invited me out got a drink tonight but then we both felt Ill and went home. But we will go out another night together- she is lovely! Actually feeling better now after some water! Its probably a mix of goon, worry about tomorrow night and the free hostel (perhaps dodgy) BBQ we had earlier! Lol. Gonna miss this place loads! People are lush although there are a few very eerie people thrown in too. Lol.

May go to the post office to pick up a card I need for rsa apparently / pick up bike / go somewhere with the boys orrrr go beach with Polly tomorrow! Depends on weather I guess! Absolutely knackered need a good nights sleep! Had last 3 nights out so need some r and r!
keep falling asleep writing this...

Love to u all, speak soon :) xx

Sun, biking and paying rent

The title pretty much outlines my day today...

Yesterday was good, Polly and I went to new town for the day to look around the shops. We went to this awesome little Thai place for lunch and the food was amazing and only 7$. I had chicken satay and wide flat noodles! Then we did a bit of shopping I bought a new nail varnish and a new dress that looks a bit like a deck chair :-/ lol only 20$ though which is cheap for here, you're usually looking at paying at least $40 for anything whether it be a t shirt or some shorts. The clothes here though are generally better quality and beautifully designed. I do miss primark and new look prices though...

Then we met Lewis my mate from Plymouth for a coffee on circular quay which was lush; even though it was raining :( then we took ye ferry back to manly to get showered and gooned up got going out later. We played drinking games and I kept on losing and I drank two dirty pints... But apparently I drink like a lad which is always a nice thing to hear lol. Got a high five though (not in that way Shoesmith)..

Went to a sick bar called shore bar last night, it's on the beach and they have live reggae bands and music playing!!! Amazing fun and the crowd was so chilled. Although they proper make you prove your not drunk when you get in... Take your finger prints too lol. The bouncer told me to watch my self at one point cos I snuck into a room that was already full. He told me to not get on his bad side... So I ran off and got a glass of water so I looked responsible. Thought the specs did that for me but apparently not.

So last night that club was a good find. today (now) I am lying on the beach cos it's SUNNY FOR THE FIRST TIME IN AGES!!! :) going in bare back with no sun lotion which I know is bad but I need some colour before my white skin starts reflecting the sun altogether. If the weather keeps up though I'll whack on the spf10. Sat opposite some rather facing Canadian fellow and oh, yes, another topless surfer just walked by... Lol. Nothing like curing a hangover with dome sun sea and sand :)

This afternoon I am going to jump on a few buses and head to marsfield to pick up a bicycle a woman is selling with helmet and lock for only $80 which is good. It's an hour journey but the bike is a good price according to the few people Ive asked :) then I'll ride on up to my new house and pay my deposit ... And maybe take a few photos so you guys can see it :) oh my gosh there are so many fit tanned girls here I feel like I'm the star of free willy! It's good I'm getting this bike... Lol. So that's about my plans for today. It's supposed to be fancy dress night tonight at the hostel but may just sit in bed and watch a movie so I'm on top form for Saturday day (work 12-5) and night out in kings cross with Katie hayley the Canadians and Mitch and Jason (Anna-maries aussy cousin and his mate) and a few gals from manly were on about coming too so need to be on top form :)

Oh my god there are seagulls every where.. Oh and last night while we were drinking in the common room one of the guys found a dead rat (they're common here)... So he started running sound the common room with it trying to freak out all the girls. Luckily he put it in the bin before reaching our table. I'm gonna miss that when I move into my house next Sunday...

:) Love and miss you all xxx

Split decisions...

This afternoon has brought quite a predicament..

I said to Lindon today that I would take the room in the beautiful house which means id need to pay him a grand by Friday which covers me for deposit and rent for two weeks :) I can move in on Sunday if I'd like... :)

Had my first shifts at moo today: 1230-230 learning some lunch stuff (till, tables, menu etc) and closing down and cashing up tonight from 6-close (930 tonight) :) I am off tomorrow ( Thursday ) and Friday and doing 12-5 sat and 630-close Sunday. Girl who is training me is lovely and she is teaching me well. Hopefully the good training will continue with other member of staff.. Bloggers dinner was ok too; we weren't that busy in restaurant so
Gm (Laura) is on about sending to Bondi to learn Better cos it's busier!

Ok so here is my predicament... It's job related so don't get top excited.

Got an email from Danny today saying there is a job available doing web design for $30-$40 an hour in the city (Sydney kings cross ) it's only 3 days / week which means I could either chill for the rest or continue at moo on more of part time basis?!..!! I am just looking forward to seeing if I even get an interview lol! Fingers crossed :D

Went to Coles supermarket this after noon between shifts with poppy (from
Hostel) and bought some food supplies! :) and we are planning on going to coogie beach tomorrow to get out of the hostel and into the rain!!!! I met a few girls a few doors down from us as well who want to join!!! And not just sit in and sulk about the weather!

Anyway that's about it- amazing how much changes in a matter of hours here!

Love to u all x

Shocked. Astounded. Excited.

Very quick update for you guys... Regarding the Moo Job... I got it! He said he wants me to start off as an assistant manager (first shock, didn't know I was going for that job!?! Lol) and that i was to also be the marketing manager, organise events, contact newspapers etc in order to encourage good reviews etc (second shock; marketing MANAGER?!) and thirdly... Dada... That if I was good he'd consider making me store manager (!?$&$/) because the current one "keeps dropping the ball"... And one other thing; he said he'd sponsor me if I wanted to stay :-/ OH MY GOD. when I left the meeting yesterday, with an induction manual in one hand and my my face receiving slaps from the other (is this all a dream?) I literally could not believe my luck! Absolutely crazy! So my first shift is today at midday until 2:30 then I have a bloggers dinner this evening at 6:30pm which involves us feeding bloggers and they write about us!! Eventually I will be organising and hosting these events. I am so excited! Oh and I get free salads / burgers at work too :-/ let's hope I stick to the salads or I'll be the one mooing all the way home! Fat cow.

Second shock of the day were the house viewings!... I think I'm going to take this first house (after speaking with the lovely ladies who I miss loads from the kings cross hostel, mel, mum and Anna-Marie) ... It is 250/week, bills are around 25/week, it's a 45min walk from beach but I can get a bike to ride to work or catch a bus. It's a modern, stylish, beautiful house... With granite kitchen work tops, two living rooms, chill areas, outside decking / garden for BBQing... And a pool!!!! Living with all guys, 20-30 who all seem lovely. Second house viewing was great, seemed like a fun party house... but the house wasn't a patch on the first one. Was a very close call though because the people were lovely too. So if all goes to plan in two weeks I will be moving into my new shiny pad and hopefully settling into my new job nicely...

But so far all I'm dreaming for now is a hot, sweltering Xmas! Cos the weather forecast for the next week is RAIN RAIN RAIN!!

Cannot wait until the weekend to go out on Friday with hostel lot "fancy dress your partner" night and then a big one with my favourite northern ladies in kings cross on saturday night!

Everyone keep me updated with your lives :) wish you could all be here with me- don't want to come back!

A week feels like a month!

Hi guys. Wow. I can't believe it's been a week already; it feels as if i've been here forever. I've been running around every day sorting out bank accounts, my medicare card, jobs, housing, my phone and where the best joints are to eat, drink and use the wifi. I'm still at Original Backpackers in Sydney Kings Cross, which is really near all of the night life on Kings Cross. Great location, reasonable price (considering the time of year) and I'm in a dorm with two UK girls called Katie and Hayley who I really get on well with. They have been travelling down the East Coast for 4 months and are staying around Sydney area for the next few months to save some money before shooting off again to do the rest of Aus.

The Visions in Style job didn't work out in the end; long story short, the guy wanted me to work all hours under the sun for what turned out to be an average daily wage and basically give up all of my social life in order to help out at the events, so I jacked that in and am now in search of a job / housing in Manly - which is a ferry boat ride from Central Sydney. It's a very chilled beach suburb; went over there on Wednesday and it was lovely weather so naturally fell in love with the place and got a few trials at a few restauants this coming week and a few house viewings too. The job I really want is at a place called Moo Gourmet Burgers http://www.moogourmetburgers.com.au/ ; there are two jobs available; Marketing (which would be great) and Waitressing, so I'm going for both and seeing which fits me better, in terms of hours, experience, pay and general enjoyability of the job. The other place is a tapas place overlooking the harbour, which also seems like a lovely place, so I'm happy either way. I do love tapas...

So I've been busy busy busy running here there and everywhere. Busy every day; went to have a look at the Botanical Gardens, Sydney Opera house and stumbled upon a cool market a few days ago. Just done my RSA too which means I can serve alcohol in a bar or restarant. If Manly doesn't work out, I'll probably head to Bondi Beach and look for jobs / accommodation there. Went to Bondai yesterday with the girls and from what we saw of it (it was pissing it down) it looked like a lush place; a bit commercial, but still nice, so it's second choice... for now! Just hoping the weather improves... It's raining here at the moment... which is absolutely rubbish! I need sun! But still my mood is sky high and I am loving every minute of it.

Social-wise, I've not been out much, but the few nights I did go out I went out with Katie and/or Hayley to the Kings Cross Hotel, which is a pub with five floors, all with different themes (a bit like Oceana but different levels going vertically), very cool place and it's free entry. Still haven't been to World Bar so need to go there still, and generally everywhere! I've said to the girls in the hostel that I will pop back and forth to the City on my days off and they'll pop and see me at the beach; they haven't been to Manly yet.

Currently sat in a cool coffee shop where the waitress is incredibly friendly :) had some nachos for lunch and about to have a nice long coffee to warm up a bit. Everything seems to have just fitted right into place here and I am very happy with the company, location, social life, work situation (hopefully, fingers crossed) and sooooon... the weather! :)

Love you all, wish you could all experience this with me! :-D
I'll give you an update next week with new on the new hostel in Manly (it's supposed to be the nicest one in Manly) and the job situation
