Update

Just got an email from Visions In Style; events agency and I start my job ''thrown in at the deep end'' next Wednesday. Looks like the Tuesday after I arrive will be spent nursing a goon induced hangover, finding and opening a bank, registering for a medicare card, buying a phone sim, viewing houses around glebe and working out how the hell I can travel to work in Annandale from Kings Cross! Shall I shit myself now, or later?

G'day Torquay

Hello and welcome to Travelling with Shadman; an incredibly well written and exciting travel blog which will, providing I don't run out of money and end up back in Torquay working as a cowgirl waitress, document the next however many years of my life on tour. It's Monday. And by this time next week, I will be 7 hours away from Sydney, Australia... probably playing the Emirates staff off of one another in order to collect and store as many bottles of Smirnoff as possible. That will win me some friends in the Hostels; I could even get some pockets sewn on the inside of my jacket to store all of them so I can look like a dodgy watch salesman.

Today, I bopped into Torquay town, embracing the spitting rain speckling my specs; which will soon be a things of the past. Although, the 50 degree heat will probably keep me just as clammy as the pissy rain storms here. At least it will be warm.

So, it's only a few days until I leave for London for a mini tour with my Uni mates, before flying on Sunday. I am currently listening to Lil Wayne - Drop the World, which contains a lot of reference to mother fuckers and general shrieking and absentees so apologies if I try rapping or rhyming at any point, young money.

I have just purchased an A4 wallet, to keep all of my travel documents, which will no doubt be folded and stuffed into my bag anyway. But at least it looks like I'm organised. Anyone can look organised if they have a plastic folder! So i'm feeling pretty smug about that. Packing has also been started in the form of throwing things I want to take into a case. And I have successfully made what seem like final appointments to see all of my friends before I swan off to London for the big shindig.

This evening, I am meeting up with old school pals for our final goodbyes and more importantly... my final Prezzo salad! I thought i'd go for the leafier choice to make myself look healthy and then spruce it up a bit with dressing, parmesan cheese (more, more, more, just leave it on the table!) and bread sticks. My soon to be a doctor mate Lauren has taken the savvy decision to stay over at my house too; which she quite openly admitted is due to wanting to experience an American Brody's breakfast tomorrow morning, rather than spending more time with me. However, with Lauren staying comes the unfortunate mission of tidying my room, or choosing not to tidy my room and therefore experiencing my mother's wrath!

Anyway, I best go, I need to have a shower, sip (a cuppa) and shave before I meet Jennie for our final meeting! This is all incredibly weird. And doubt the next week will feel any more normal.
